She’s never been so reactionary before to the new world opening up around her. For instance, when I play peekaboo with just 2 months ago by using my palm to hide her sight, she wouldn’t do anything. But these days, she’ll try to pull my hand away to see again.

Or that since returning home on Sunday, I’ve discovered that Hannah now immediately recognizes me, and will react by smiling and giggling back when I grin or do a funny face at her.

Or that she’s more expressive than ever. Like waving, raising her arms into the air, or patting her chest.

Or that she seems to be more cognizant of the dangers involving height. One of my favorite play spots with her is on our bed in the Master bedroom (Ling seems to prefer the living room sofa or Hannah’s play yard). During our play sessions, I would line the bed edges with linen, pillows and boosters to form a sort of barrier to stop her from falling off our bed. In previous months, that was never enough and I still have to physically restrain her often from getting close to the bed edges. But when I did the same with her yesterday, she seemed to be recognize the linen barriers and not go near the ‘forbidden’ zones too often.

Here are a couple of pictures taken yesterday on Monday morning – Youth Day – after I’d just woken Hannah up. I’d taken a day’s leave to help get over my jet lag (it’s really, really bad).

I noticed that she’s started to hug her pillow with two arms while standing too.
