The place is situated at Science Park along Charles River, and is just within walking distance of MIT.

The Museum lies along a different train line altogether though, so getting there from home required traveling across a distance and changing train lines that makes it a lot further than the actual line of distance involved.

The Museum seems to be divided into three large sections: the Blue Wing housing science, mathematical and technological exhibits, the Green Wing housing flora and fauna exhibits, and the Red Wing housing the Museum’s stores and cafeterias.

The Museum seemed to be a favorite visitation spot for school-going children; there were busloads of students ferrying to and fro from the Museum throughout the period of my visit.

The exhibits I found most fascinating were the small model and miniature ones (pictures below), and the many animal dioramas. Hopefully I got the captions all right for these pictures!

White-tailed Deer from Squam Lake, New Hampshire

<img loading="lazy" decoding="async" style="display: inline;
