Domain Transfer – Still Ongoing
Just a quick note: I’m in the midst of transferring Host Servers, so in the next few days, emails will get bounced between the old and new hosts, and a couple of posts have to be manually recreated again. Do
Taxi Surcharges
There’s a bit of local news here that I suspect will again have readers either shaking their heads in disgust or again crack more jokes about taxi companies in Singapore. Formatted to save space, and italics mine: Jan 12, 2010
Time to Move House
Virtually, that is. The chekyang.com domain has been around for more than a decade now. The first host provider I used was Hostway: pretty good service though subscription plans for a while were relatively expensive. I did a domain shift
Blawk Hawk Down
Black Hawk Down (2001) – on HD. Until the film itself, the only recollection I had of what eventually became known as the Battle of Mogadishu were the televised images and news of two American soldiers who were killed in
Computer Assembly – Part 2
Interestingly, the parts that go into a computer system haven’t changed too much over the last 15 years since I first tried assembling my first computer in 1995. The parts back then were… Computer casing CPU Motherboard RAM Power supply

Up
Up (2009) – on rental. I must be one of few rare filmgoers out there when it comes to Up. I didn’t think it was very good, and certainly not anywhere near Pixar’s best animated films: after this one, my
Braveheart
Braveheart (1995) on HD. I’ve blogged here briefly about this 1995 film directed, produced and lead-acted by Mel Gibson before. But after recently acquiring the Blu-ray disc for it and watching it again with Ling, decided to do a longer
Departed with Memories – Part 2
There are little observations I’ve made too throughout my 9 day stay. Service standards are incredible. I never met a single customer service person who failed to display the highest levels of courtesy, whether that person is a taxi driver
Kumamoto – Departed with Memories – Part 1
Matt and I were having an MSN chat the other day while I was still in Kumamoto, and one part of it went like this: Matt: “It is a shame you won’t get to see Nagasaki, though.” Me: “Yeah. But
