Day 06 @ Jeju – East Jeju – Seopjikoji

We returned to our guesthouse after our descent from Seongsan Mountain, washed up, packed, and checked out for our trip to our next location: Seopjikoji. We’d, a couple of days back, visited Suwolbong at the western end of Jeju. Seopjikoji is located on the other end – the eastern side of the island. Grassy slopes lead down toward rocky cliffs and open sea views. The area itself is not very large, but the scenery makes it a pleasant place for a short walk along the well-maintained footpaths. There are also a few pavilion-like areas, including a small lighthouse – Bangdupo Lighthouse – that has an observation deck and sits on top of a small hill. There is also a cafe and bakery located nearby, with a large swing for visitors to take their Instagram pictures.

The weather was pretty overcast during the late morning when we visited.

The lighthouse is reached through a relatively short series of steps. Alternatively, you can also get to the lighthouse using a footpath on the other side. This footpath is longer but has no steps, as it’s on a gentle incline.
Jeju Glass House: a bakery and cafeteria with a view of the coast.

This was a lovely area to spend time in, and bereft of mass tourism as it’s not the typical spot for large tourist buses to stop at. Continued in the next post!
