For the Jiuzhaigou segment of our trip, we stayed for two nights at Jisheng Hotel, a small-ish property. Our comments!
We were booked into a Yin Yi 2-Bedroom Movie Viewing Family Suite, which is a single unit with two separate bedrooms and a common area with a dining table. The unit is a mid-sized 50sqm in area and located at level 2. The unit is so-called too as there are indeed overhead projectors in both rooms to show large screen content: this is the first place we’ve stayed with rooms equipped like this, and we ended up watching more local TV content on these projectors than we’d so far this trip in any other property!
The property is located about 2km from the Jiuzhaigou main entrance, so not really walkable in winter. But Didi cab drivers were familiar with the location and had no issues finding the place over the couple of times we hailed rides to get to different places. The driver for our pre-arranged from Trip.com transfer from Huanglong Station was also happy to drop us off at the hotel door-step even though this was not on the list of standard drop-off locations.
The exterior of the hotel looks a little worn, as is also the common areas especially the dining area for the morning breakfasts. But the room we had itself was very clean, modern stylished, and with the usual amenities: including room heating and bed warmers. The room took a while to warm up in winter, but the front counter staff was happy to loan us a spare card to keep the electricity on when we were not in the room.
The property though is located on the quieter east(?) side of Jiuzhaigou Valley’s main entrance. The west side seems more ‘happening’: with many taxi touts and traffic, but it’s also where Starbucks, KFC, McDonald’s, Luckin’ Coffee, and Chagee are all located. No such establishments on our side, but it also made for a quieter stay. There are a dozen or so convenience stores and local dining establishments around the hotel, so no, you won’t starve or need to walk far to get travel necessities.
The front counter staff was friendly and super helpful: they were responsive on Wechat to specific requests we needed during our stay, and also was happy to guide us through food delivery.

In all, we were happy with this stay: the hotel looks old from the outside, yes, but the interior were perfectly fine for us.
