We stayed for single nights at a number of properties this trip. Here’s a consolidated summary of the places we stayed at and quick notes.
Chongcao Hotel Litang
Mid-sized hotel that from the exterior looks like one of those 1990s-esque type hotels. But the rooms look like they had been recently refurbished to modern standards. Breakfast spread was buffet-styled.

Yuntian Dream Hotel
Smallish hotel with modern chic decor. There is a platform deck in the room for tea while enjoying the roadside scenery. Breakfast was very simple as there were very few guests staying. The reception girl was a little too business-like.

Danba Zongkar Homestay
This was our favorite single-night stay this trip. While the name of the hotel sounds like it’s a homestay, it actually isn’t: it’s a small hotel with perhaps 7-8 rooms in all. The owner was very warm and kind, and the rooms were beautifully decorated and very large. Room could use better heating though in winter!

Holy Land Image Hotel Mt. Siguniang
Small hotel that’s literally just 1 minute drive from the Mt. Siguniang Scenic Area entrance. Property is small-ish with maybe two dozen rooms. HAs a lovely an inner courtyard, and the lass manning the reception was super friendly and helpful. Room though took a while to heat up, but bed has warmers, and the toilet and shower area is also separately heated. Room is a little small compared to the other properties we’ve stayed this trip, but it was still sufficient for our needs.

Somerset Riverview Chengdu
Our first of two Chengdu hotels. This one is a service apartment block located in what our Sichuan driver quipped – an area for rich people and international tourists. The apartment is well-staffed who are very prompt to pick up luggage as soon as our vehicle got up to the driveway, and also guided us to the reception at level 3. We were booked into an Executive Suite at level 21 which comprised two king-sized beds: one in a large living area, and another in a private room. There’s kitchenette, a laundry machine, desk area, dining area, and two TVs. The suite was very clean though the furnishing itself looks like it’s been a little worn: but after being in small properties for the last 14 days – excepting the Daocheng Jifeng Hot Springs Resort Hotel and Chongcao Hotel Litang (above) – that this was a large property with all the standard amenities we expect from international hotels was a very welcomed change!
