Day 12: We left Xinduqiao this morning and continued driving northwards another 150km to Danba County, an area deep in Tibetan Valleys. Early on though, we stopped by Tagong Grassland, a vast high-altitude plateau known for its stunning natural beauty – except that is probably in non-wintering seasons! It was various shades of brown for us when we went by it yesterday and today. Still, I wanted to do another tick off my bucket list: low-pass aerial videos of herds of horses, cattle and such. So, we found two such pastures: one where the actual grassland area is, and another a smaller farm area where Yaks had not been yet freed to wander around the area to gaze.
This was my first time doing a fairly low pass flight, and there were low cables and poles to avoid. The horses were unpertubed, but a few Yaks looked startled by the drone!
A few quick flights and we were done, and continued on our way to Danba County. Continued in the next post!
