Day 03 @ Lijiang – Yuhu Village

We left the city of Dali on Day 03 this morning. Our driver picked us up in the morning and began the 2.5 hour drive to Lijiang, where we were met with our guide – Ah Luo – for the next two days. This Lijiang local resident was super jovial to the max and was full of colorful commentary about life in the laid back city and the various places we were visiting. Only thing was that unlike our Dali guide, Luo could not speak English, and the Mandarin she spoke was of the spitfire kind. The missus was able to understand most of it, but I struggled!

Our first stop of the day after lunch at a Lijiang local restaurant was Yuhu village, and about 20 minutes drive away. The village sits at the foot of the famed Jade Dragon Mountain we’d be visiting tomorrow Day 04, and visitors are brought up part of the way as the village sits on an inclined hill. The village has a large number of exquisitively built stone houses that houses many retail and dining establishments. Near the top of the hill we took another electric cart that brought us to Yuhu Lake where visitors could ride ponies around a large pasture. I found the village itself pretty meh though the riding pasture and lake was much more interesting. The DJI Neo 2 came out for me to fly again, and this time I got it to do a large number of routines, and also some manual flying.

Walking up the cobble stone pathway in the village.
The rich blue skies past noon made for some stunning pictures.

Those small huts remind me of Hobbiton. LOL.

The drone video is in the next post!
