Yep; basically the COE is a license we have to purchase here in order to own a car here. Problem though is that the license is only available through regulated auctioning, and because of the increasing car ownernship here, the prices of licenses have gone through the roof. Right now, it’s about S$60,000 – and that’s not even including the cost of the vehicle itself.=(

How long does the Certificate of Entitlement allow you to own a car? Do they have to be renewed semi-regularly, or only at the time of the car purchase?

Yeah, but apparently the beverage joints here seem not to mind too much their patrons taking their time over tea and coffee, though some students really take it to the extreme by sharing a single drink and parking themselves for the entire day. Every now and then, there’d be letters written to the media from irate patrons who’re unable to find a table because all of them are being hoarded by students.=)

She is a smart kid, your little one! I love conversing with my three year old too Ling. Very entertaining. In comparison to Hannah asking for big denominations such as $20 notes, luckily my Isabelle only knows up till $5!! heehee. Her fav is still $2 coins so that she can pop them into her favourite rides at the malls. =.=

The 1998 movie is better by far. Just because 2012 has better set and more money it doesn’t mean it’s a better movie. I personally hate the singing-in-your-face performance and I cringed every second of it. While 1998 movie was superb in how the actors delivered their roles. I agree that Rush was very good as Javert. For me 1998 movie will always be the best Les Misrables adaptation until this day and the 2012 movie is soooooo overrated.

I’ve already issued a standing notice to biographers that all references to the use of suppositories be expunged from my biography should I ever become famous or notorious enough to require one. I think the worst thing about being that sick is the treatment!

Well, the flash only comes out when natural lighting just won’t cut it – but thankfully it’s more on the occasion than common occurrence.:)

I’m absolutely in love now with primes though; can’t imagine myself going back to zooms, even the f2.8 ones, as my mainstays.

My wife had our son’s ears pierced at two years old! Can you imagine? Not a day goes by on which I don’t give her a little grief for that. :) He hasn’t worn them since, and hardly believes he ever did. I think he’s convinced I’ve photoshopped the photographic evidence.

I ate there over a dozen times in 2010, during my semi-nightly walks, but only once in 2012. In my estimation the food isn’t that great, but I liked the atmosphere of the surrounding area (i.e., the dance group practicing nightly across the street). And there was a really nice auntie working the drinks stand who took care of me! :)

In 2012 the place seemed almost empty in comparison.

Yep, bud – and more specifically, Kopitiam Square. We haven’t been to this foodcourt before – Ling thinks the food there is terrible, but we gave it a go anyway.

Hannah’s growing quite tall definitely at just going onto 4 years old. At this rate, she might be taller than Ling.=)

Thanks for visiting our blog. And hi to our future neighbour.

Although the fence doesn’t make the condo exclusive-looking at the moment, I believe it will be forgotten once the foliage thickens behind it. Our current place also uses this concept of a see-through fence to create a ‘green’ barrier as a perimeter. And I must say that the greenery makes the private property very pleasant and at the same time very private.

About the paint colour, I’m easy between white and grey as long as the colours blend well for the overall appearance.

Hi there, my wife and I are, like you, are proud owners of a unit in The Minton. During our recent site visit, we noticed that a green fence has been erected along the perimeter. To us, the green fence is horrible-looking and an eye-sore. It is what they would use for a school fence. We feel that it greatly cheapens the whole concept and image of our condominium. We dearly hope that it’s an ad hoc thing. I seriously do not know of any other condominium that has such an offensive and indignified thing for its enclosure. In short, we feel short-changed! We would like to find out what you feel about the fence.

At the same time, according to brochures given to us, the paint work on the exterior of the balconies should be white, and not grey. We feel that there might have been a mis-representation there. What are your thoughts?

As lovers of our future homes, I hope that you can share your thoughts with us.
