Hannantics – Part 1

New series of posts about the sort of colorful things our little girl does on her journey of growing self-awareness and assertion! The bunch of pictures here were taken on Tuesday evening at a The Soup (Chinese) Restaurant. We’ve been to this restaurant a couple of times now, not too often though as prices are a little pricey. That said, they whip up an absolutely fabulous chicken dish called the Samsui Ginger Chicken.

Ling was asking if we’ve brought our friend Matt here too try out this dish before. Not before as I recall, so this is definitely a go-to place the next time he visits. =)

Your guess is as good as mine what she's doing here!

We only realized later what she was doing. She said "Mommy, kitchen".=)

Her attention shifted ot the plate of chicken when it arrived though.

She's become quite adept at feeding herself now. That's a bowl of ginger fried rice with the Samsui ginger chicken, decked with claypot toufu, a bit of spicy kang-kong. She tucked them all in.=)

  1. This is our favourite Chinese restaurant too. Most of the dishes are very homey and suitable for toddlers. Your little gal look so skillful at feeding herself. Well done, mommy! ;)

  2. Wah Dr Foo the photo that you took using ur EPL2 is comparable to a DSLR it also give a nice Bokeh and perform quite well under low light

  3. In that top photo, Hannah is obviously feeding an imaginary elephant through a straw.

I’ve considered dozens of times dining at one of the many Soup Restaurant locations, yet I’ve always chosen not to. Having just now looked at their online menu, I am disappointed in my past decisions as I’ve clearly been missing out. The Samsui ginger chicken and steamed hand-chopped minced pork with salted fish, among others, immediately appeal to me. I wish I’d have investigated their offerings before!

  4. Matt, another must-try the next time you stop by our little red dot :) It is amazing how good that Samsui chicken taste after you dipped it generously in that savoury ginger sauce and wrapped around with a piece of lettuce. *must wrap with the lettuce ok!* Yang skipped that part.

  5. Noted! : )

And I’m surprised Yang even tried it given his disdain for ginger!

  6. The ginger are all diced and minced, and comes in the form of a sort of dip for the meat. Yeah I hate ginger normally, but with the chicken, it’s pretty good. =)
