Day 4: Kyoto – Holly’s Cafe

I was just remarking to Ling that in typical days back at home in Singapore, we’d never eat so much nor so often as what we’re doing now on vacation! I can so understand why our Missouri bud does what he does whenever he’s in Singapore – partaking and trying out every possible cuisine without caring too much about the kind of damage we’re doing to our physical well-beings.

Our Christmas day in Kyoto was spent exploring the Gion district, so this series of posts will be an account of the several places we went to, and also more importantly places we dined in.

Breakfast first. Like any other modern city, there’s no shortage of café chains, one of which is just a short 4 minute walk from our hotel. Holly’s Café seems Elvis Presley styled with its 1960s rock n’ roll music and décor. There weren’t many patrons on the Christmas morning at 8:00 AM though we did see that this place is typically packed with crowds on most days.

Cheese cakes with tea and coffee.:)

Ling liked the cheese cakes, whereas I’m less enamored by them. Coffee and tea was alright if pricey, with our bill coming to 900円. We’re gonna check out other cafes for future breakfasts I think.
