Day 2: Kobe – Chinatown

This might sound really weird, but it’s strange that Chinese like us would go about hunting for Chinatowns whenever we visit another country! Well, at least Ling was really interested in visiting the Chinatown in Kobe, also known as ‘Nankinmachi’. We checked out the area at about 6 PM on Thursday evening Day 2.

The Chinatown runs for about two blocks. About 200 metres across the length of it, with several smaller alleys branching off.

Right in the center of the two block long Chinatown is a 'square' of sorts, adroned with a large lantern pavilion.

More eateries clustered around the pavilion.

All very colorful!

Lots of hawker-like push stalls lining both sides of the stretch.

Many stalls had persons calling out to passerbys and inviting them closer to see their menus.

Can't go wrong with Bruce Lee!
