Play Yard

Now that Hannah’s easily comfortable with crawling about on all fours and propping herself up to stand, she needs a watchful pair of  eyes on her at all times when we set her to play in an open area, e.g. near the coffee table area.

To expedite matters a little, we ordered equipment for a play yard, and set it up in the open space in the living room. These play yards are typically four segments: one for each side of a square – but Ling went for the jumbo-sized, adding two additional segments to form a large rectangular-shaped play area for Hannah. The area now measures about at least 2.5 meters by 1 meter. It’s large enough for all three of us to get into Hannah’s play pen and have fun with her, and step out if we have to be elsewhere. The segment walls are adorned with colorful toys too.:)

The obligatory pictures of Hannah in her new day home, and taken with me inside the play yard with her LOL:

On the down side, Hannah’s fallen a little sick with a running nose since waking up on Sunday morning. Her temperature’s fine, but she’s super cranky and took a lot of coaxing to finally turn in for the night.

  1. Dear Ling,

  2. Hi Noelle,

I ordered it online on Singapore Motherhood forum under Bulk Purchase. There’s a person by the nickname ‘Crazy about Korea’ who imports Haenim Playyard (the one we have) amongst other things. You could choose the no. of panels and design (mainly the colour scheme) for the playyard. Ours is the Japan design with 6 panels. It’s free delivery if you reside in Singapore. You could check with ‘Crazy about Korea’ whether she could mail it to you overseas. Alternatively, if you know of anybody residing in Singapore, you could have the playyard sent to that person’s address and then pick it up later. Currently, there’s an on-going bulk purchase for this playyard, see http://www.singaporemotherhood.com/forumboard/messages/581296/4206552.html?1286527059 I believe a non-member could just click on the nickname ‘Crazy about Korea’ to send a message to her about any purchase. :)

There’s another option. I remember seeing this playyard sold at Kiddy Palace in Singapore. Their outlets could be found here http://www.kiddypalace.com.sg/locations.html . They have an outlet at Causeway Point Shopping Centre. It is best to make a call to the outlet of your choice to check whether they carry the product (and also whether they sell by the no. of panels you want. The standard package comes in 4 panels.) before you get your friend to make a trip there.

Finally, we managed to use this playyard for about 6 months plus. We got it when she started to crawl. However, when she could walk independently without support, she saw the playyard as a ‘prison’. Naturally, she wanted out. Good thing that there’s second-hand value for this product. :)

Hope that the above helps. :)
